Our PSA Project

 Hi everyone! Today i will share with you my digital storytelling experience. We had many alternatives but Berkay, Çimen and I decided to shoot a PSA (Public Service Announcement) about HPV (Human Papillomavirus). Because, especially in Turkey, we think that people should be made aware of this issue. Therefore, we explained what HPV is, how it is transmitted, how we can protect ourselves and the most important part, vaccination.

First of all, we did research on our subject and then we met and combined our data. We designed our clip as animation and to do this we used Canva. Thanks to Canva's free tools, we were able to use a lot of images, colors, themes and shapes for our clip. Then, we recorded our voices, selected our song and added them to the clip. The process was not as difficult as we thought because we found many voice recording and video editing sites on the internet. 

As an ELT student, it was an experience that helped me with fluency and collaboration. We also gained a lot of information on a subject that we should be aware of. Since we live in the age of technological education, i have gained skills such as video editing, design, combining audio recordings... I think that such projects will socialize students, raise awareness and gain self-confidence while speaking English.

THE END OF THE TERM! WHAT HAVE I LEARNED SO FAR?

Hi my dear friends! We have finally come to the end of this term. As an English Language Teaching (ELT) student, this semester has been transformative, thanks to the "Current Issues in Teaching" course. Coming from limited experience with technology, the course opened a new world of teaching techniques and material preparation to me. The "AR/VR Material" preparation assignment was a notable creating that greatly helped my career growth. While it was difficult at first, learning how to use the tools was quite helpful. It took time and work, but the benefits were enormous: I was able to teach much better and became more adept at incorporating technology. This course has improved my technical proficiency and encouraged creativity, which will help me be a more effective teacher.
