About 21st Century Learning (Combination of English and Technology)

In recent years, technological developments have contributed a lot to the education. That’s why we can call the 21st century “the technological education age”.

The importance of English has also increased with the combination of technology and education because the language of technology is English. Technology has made it incredibly easy to access to searches, articles, documentaries etc. about history, science and more. Compared to the past, students are more open-minded and well-qualified in the 21st century. For example, a student can acquire new information thanks to their technological tools and because they mingle with technology, they can meet English. In this regard, We, English language teachers, take responsibility. There is now much more need for English than in the past.

Technology and English are inseparable. Therefore, it may seem easy to learn English with just tools but people can not learn a language without interacting with each other. That’s why the need for English language teachers has increased even more.

As a teacher candidate, i think we should teach something our students without separating language and technology in this technological age. We have countless opportunities and materials. With these, we can train our students and teach English much better.

THE END OF THE TERM! WHAT HAVE I LEARNED SO FAR?

Hi my dear friends! We have finally come to the end of this term. As an English Language Teaching (ELT) student, this semester has been transformative, thanks to the "Current Issues in Teaching" course. Coming from limited experience with technology, the course opened a new world of teaching techniques and material preparation to me. The "AR/VR Material" preparation assignment was a notable creating that greatly helped my career growth. While it was difficult at first, learning how to use the tools was quite helpful. It took time and work, but the benefits were enormous: I was able to teach much better and became more adept at incorporating technology. This course has improved my technical proficiency and encouraged creativity, which will help me be a more effective teacher.
